Routeburn Track Guided Day-Walk
The Routeburn Track in Mount Aspiring National Park is one of New Zealand's great walks. After a short drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy you set off hiking along a well-made trail through a 130 million year old magical world of ferns, mosses, lichens, waterfalls and beech forest. Enjoy spectacular mountain views and a rich variety of birdlife as you explore forgotten paths of the Maori and travel along their old greenstone trails, finding new enchantment around each corner. The Routeburn competes with the Milford Track as two of New Zealand's best hiking trails. Allow for a full 8-9 hour day with 3-5 hours of walking on a well formed track, covering up to 16kms, depending on your individual fitness level. There is an optional 2-3 hour extension for fit and active hikers to climb higher up and view the Routeburn Falls.
